Softwash render cleaning — K-Rend, ProRend, silicone & monocouche.

Biocide softwash for K-Rend, ProRend, silicone and monocouche renders. Kills the algae and lichen at the source so the finish stays clean for years — not weeks.

Scope of a typical render job.

No vague promises — here's what actually happens on site. Every item baked into the price, nothing itemised later.

Biocide applied at the correct concentration, left to dwell, then rinsed gently.

We come back six months later to re-treat at no extra cost — if required.

  4. 04

    Annual maintenance

Optional yearly softwash keeps the finish looking new indefinitely.

What a proper softwash does to a green render.

Render doesn't go green overnight. Algae and lichen take hold wherever the wall stays damp — under the sills, along the downpipe, on the shaded aspect — and creep outwards until the whole elevation reads grey rather than white.

Biocide softwash kills it at the spore level instead of blasting it off, so the surface of the render is left intact and the finish comes back even rather than patchy. Drag the slider to see the same elevation before and after.

  • Biocide softwash and low-pressure rinse — no jetting
  • K-Rend, ProRend, silicone and monocouche safe
  • Planting dampened and sheeted before we start

Why softwash and not jetting?
Pressure jetting strips the top layer of render, removes the colour, and accelerates recontamination. Biocide softwash kills the algae/lichen at the spore level and leaves the substrate intact.
Is it safe on K-Rend, ProRend and silicone render?
Yes — softwash is the manufacturer-recommended cleaning method for these finishes. We never jet K-Rend, ProRend or silicone.
How long does the result last?
Typically 3–5 years between cleans on a sheltered elevation, 2–3 years in damp/shaded aspects. The 6-month biocide top-up (if required) significantly extends this.
Do you protect plants and garden?
Yes — all planting is dampened and sheeted before application. Biocide is diluted below levels harmful to surrounding vegetation.

“Softwashed our K-Rend and treated the roof. Came back six months later to check the biocide had done its work — no one does that. House looks brand new.”
